What is Valor Mortis?
Valor Mortis is a first-person Soulslike set in an alternate 1815 where Napoleon won at Waterloo — and his Napoleon-era Grande Armee marches on, sustained by the supernatural plague substance Nephtoglobin. You play William Dowsett, a British volunteer raised from a mass grave, fighting mutated abominations across semi-open levels.
Combat is built on a parry-posture loop with a first-person twist: your sword breaks posture, your firearms hit weak points and refill your Nephtoglobin, and your Transmutations — Fire, Stasis and Shield — spend it. Ambers add build-defining passives on top, and Lanterns checkpoint the metroidvania-style map.
With a 20+ hour campaign, ten story bosses, nine weapons and 30+ Ambers, it is the biggest project yet from One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner.
